When Kvinna President and Co-Founder Angela Barnes recently learned that her close friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer, her heart broke.

Her friend’s mammogram had come back clear just months earlier, so what happened?

Angela dug deeper, and was dismayed by what she learned. Like her friend, tens of thousands of women have cancer that slips by undetected every year in the US. Mammography alone is failing women—especially women with dense breast tissue.

With these unacceptable facts weighing heavy, Angela’s heart went from broken to determined.

Through research, she discovered a powerful new Automated Full Breast Ultrasound. Immediately she knew that she wanted to make Automated Full Breast Ultrasound’s unique and effective early detection screening available for all women. And thus the KVINNA Breast Care + Imaging clinic was born—a clinic devoted to educating and empowering women to make the very best decisions for their health.
